Totals for Fingerlakes Pagan Pride 2005

Firstly we here at FLPP would like to extend our personal thanks for all the help and time that people gave at FLPP. With out our dedicated volunteers this event could not happen.

Thank you all! We had a total of 377 people, (not counting volunteers, vendors and FLPP staff), come in and participate in FLPP '05. Since half of the day was rain I think that is fantastic. We had Pagans attend but we had lots of non-Pagans come and talk with our volunteers and ask what Pagan is and what we do. We also had lots of people watch our Rituals.

This is what Pagan Pride Festivals are all about and we are very pleased with the number who came.

FLPP raised $101.20 in cash for the Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund. FLPP raised 428 lbs. of foodstuffs for Saint Mary's Social Ministries. Both have been distributed.

The clothing drive for CODEPINK Women for Peace of Greater Rochester to benefit the Victims of Katrina, was very successful as well. We carried 2 huge bags fullof clothing out of the festival and that has been put with our current and continuing collection that will be delivered for sorting and distribution after October 1st. So if you have clothes to donate we are accepting them until October 1st. You can contact Heidi heidi@fingerlakespaganpride.com or Shelly shelly@fingerlakespaganpride.com for drop off info.

We also had 59 apples put on our Thanksgiving Tree...

Thank you all, who gave time or attended, vended, entertained, and staffed this event. None of this good work in the name of Pagan generosity could have been accomplished without you!

Blessings and see you next year!

The Fingerlakes Pagan Pride 2005 Thankgiving Tree

tgtree

The Thanksgiving Tree was a physical 3-D art project painted by Jannelle Olmstead SomeThing Else Studio to emphasize community support and
fellowship within the Pagan community. It conveys the idea that we are all linked as a family regardless of our individual cultures or faiths.

The Tree was integrated into the annual Finger Lakes Pagan Pride Festival. As donations were received by patrons, they were given a paper apple to write what they were thankful for. The apples were then affixed to the Thanksgiving Tree. These wishes are viewable here.
